Assurance Engineer

About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Assurance Engineer to join our team on an 11-month assignment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in systems engineering and functional safety, particularly within regulated environments such as aerospace or space sectors. Key Responsibilities * Develop and maintain safety and assurance cases at the technical systems level. * Conduct quality assurance activities in line with regulatory standards. * Analyse system designs and elicit functional requirements. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety and assurance standards. * Provide technical input and assurance oversight for software and electronic hardware design and development. * Communicate effectively with stakeholders, producing clear and concise documentation. * Support audits, reviews, and assessments related to system safety and assurance. Required Background * Systems Engineering experience, ideally with a focus on communication networks (tactical or civilian). * Strong functional safety knowledge at the technical systems level. * Prior experience in aerospace, space, or other regulated industries is highly desirable. Essential Skills & Experience * Proven experience writing safety/assurance cases. * Familiarity with software and electronic hardware design and assurance processes. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex system designs. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills. * High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Desirable Qualifications * Experience in aerospace or space assurance environments. * Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and compliance frameworks
