Band 5 Radiographer (Diagnostic)

Job Title: Radiographer (Diagnostic) Band: 5 Location: Radiology Departments, Various NHS Trusts in Northern Ireland Reports To: Radiology Manager / Senior Radiographer (varies by Trust) Job Summary: As a Band 5 Diagnostic Radiographer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, safe, and effective radiographic examinations across a range of clinical areas. You will play a vital role in the diagnosis and care of patients, working within multidisciplinary teams across NHS Radiology departments. Key Responsibilities: Independently undertake radiographic procedures in accordance with IRR (NI) 2017 and IR(ME)R (NI) 2018. Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and safety throughout the imaging process. Carry out routine equipment checks and quality assurance tasks. Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to information governance standards. Participate in CPD activities, audits, and quality improvement initiatives. Liaise effectively with clinical staff to support diagnostic workflows. Supervise and support junior staff and student radiographers. Participate in extended working hours, weekend shifts, and on-call duties, as required. Requirements: BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent. HCPC registration (required at time of appointment). Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques, anatomy, infection control, and radiation safety. Full UK driving licence or equivalent transport arrangements.
