Senior Design Engineer (Electrical)

We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated professional to take on a leadership role, supporting the design and delivery of a variety of building services projects. Key Responsibilities * Lead and manage electrical design projects from inception to completion. * Provide mentorship and oversight to junior engineers and design staff. * Manage design deliverables including specifications, drawings, schedules, and cost estimates using Microsoft Word and Excel. * Liaise directly with clients and attend design and progress meetings. * Prepare fee proposals, assist with fee assessments, and monitor project budgets. * Conduct site surveys, produce detailed technical reports, and perform quality inspections. * Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards. * Use AutoCAD and Revit (BIM) in accordance with internal procedures. * Monitor and manage project finances and timelines. Required Experience * Strong background in electrical design engineering, ideally within a consultancy environment. * Experience managing multidisciplinary projects and design teams. * Proficient in producing specifications, calculations (manual and software-based), and tender packages. * Capable of reviewing and analyzing returned tenders and providing recommendations. * Skilled in producing cost estimates and condition reports. * Previous experience with direct client liaison and on-site project management. * Comfortable carrying out site surveys across the UK (travel required). Technical Knowledge * Familiar with current UK Building Regulations, particularly relating to energy efficiency and controls. * Sound understanding of: CIBSE Guides, IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), CDM Regulations, British Standards, Revit/BIM standards Sectors of Experience * Education * Residential Developments * Commercial Qualifications * Minimum HNC or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
