Job Description
The vacancy We are seeking a dynamic and highly organised Business Development Manager to join our team in the energy sector. This role is pivotal in coordinating major global projects across the oil & gas and energy infrastructure markets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing both internal and external stakeholder communications, mapping project lifecycles, and supporting tender and specification development — with a specialist focus on passive fire protection, insulation, and acoustic systems. Key Responsibilities: Project Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement * Identify, map, and track major energy projects globally, across upstream, midstream, and downstream markets. * Liaise directly and indirectly with project stakeholders including Operators, EPCs (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) contractors, OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), and Fabrication Yards to gather project intelligence and key decision points. * Coordinate with global sales team where support is required to close a project, focusing on securing multiple contracts per project. * Maintain up-to-date tracking tools and databases for ongoing and upcoming projects. * Act as a central communication point between internal teams and external project partners. Sales Coordination & Opportunity Management * Collaborate closely with the Head of Sales to coordinate open opportunities. * Provide project insights and updates to inform sales pipeline development and opportunity pursuit. * Support the development and submission of tender and bidding documents, ensuring technical and commercial alignment. Specification Management * Engage with design and engineering teams to ensure appropriate specification of passive fire protection, thermal insulation, and acoustic systems. * Influence and secure product/system specification in early project phases by working with consultants, EPCs, and end users. * Monitor evolving industry standards and ensure alignment of specifications with regulatory and client requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration * Interface with product management, engineering, technical and commercial teams to ensure the right solutions are presented to clients. * Support technical presentations and meetings with clients and key stakeholders as needed. * Contribute to continuous improvement of project coordination processes and specification tools. Required Skills & Experience * Proven experience in the energy sector, preferably with exposure to offshore projects and fabrication yards. * Strong understanding of project development cycles and the roles of operators, EPCs, OEMs, and yards. * Working knowledge of technical tendering and bidding processes. * Familiarity with fire protection, insulation, and acoustic systems is highly desirable. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal. * Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across global time zones. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and project tracking tools. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in technical sales, product specification, or project support roles in industrial sectors. * Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g. NORSOK, ISO, API, etc.)
