Quality Manager Quality Manager – Road Construction (Contract) Cornwall (Site-Based) Contract: 6–12 Months Rate: Competitive Day Rate (DOE) Start Date: ASAP Industry: Civil Engineering / Infrastructure / Highways Job Description: I'm recruiting on behalf of a well-respected civil engineering main contractor who are delivering a major road infrastructure scheme across Devon and Cornwall. They are now looking to appoint a Quality Manager on a 6–12 month contract to support delivery and raise site standards. This is a hands-on role focused on checking completed works, identifying defects, and ensuring compliance with project drawings and specifications. The successful candidate will play a critical role in helping the team address current quality concerns and prevent future issues. Key Responsibilities: Inspect completed works to ensure alignment with specifications and technical drawings Identify and report defects/non-conformances and ensure timely remedial actions are taken Support site teams in driving a “right-first-time” culture Maintain accurate quality records, reports, and follow-up documentation Liaise with supervisors, engineers, and managers to improve site quality practices Attend progress and quality review meetings Requirements: Proven experience as a Quality Manager or QA/QC Engineer on road construction or highways projects Strong understanding of construction drawings, ITPs, and site specifications Experience working for or with main contractors on civil engineering projects Excellent communication and reporting skills CSCS card essential; SMSTS and First Aid beneficial What’s on Offer: 6–12 month contract with potential for extension Cornwall-based project with a reputable main contractor Competitive day rate (DOE) Immediate start available To apply, please upload your CV or get in touch with Laura at RGB for more info or a confidential discussion
