Freelance Site Manager – Schools Project – Stoke-on-Trent Contract: Freelance Location: Stoke-on-Trent Duration: Until February 2026 Rate: Competitive, DOE We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a series of school construction/refurbishment projects in Stoke-on-Trent. This long-term opportunity runs through to February 2026 and offers the chance to work on meaningful education projects, managing site operations and ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and programme delivery. The Role: * Manage day-to-day site operations on school construction/refurbishment projects. * Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour on site. * Ensure compliance with health & safety policies, RAMS, and site regulations at all times. * Liaise with the client, consultants, and local authorities to ensure smooth project delivery. * Monitor progress against programme, managing resources to meet deadlines. * Maintain site records, carry out inductions, and chair progress meetings. Requirements: * Proven experience as a Site Manager on construction projects – preferably within the education/schools sector. * Strong knowledge of construction methods, H&S, and quality control. * Excellent organisational and communication skills. * SMSTS, CSCS (Black or White), and First Aid certificates are essential. * Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) is highly desirable given the school environment.
