Team Leader – Scheduling & Customer Service (Health & Safety Services)

Job Description

We’re looking for a driven, hands-on, people-focused Team Leader to manage our scheduling and customer service operations. In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering essential health and safety services across the UK — ensuring contractors are where they need to be, when they need to be there, and clients receiving exceptional service throughout the process. Your Responsibilities: * Lead, support, and coach a customer service and scheduling team delivering health & safety services UK-wide. * Take an active role in day-to-day scheduling — sleeves up, leading from the front. Ensure accurate job booking and contractor allocation in line with service timelines. * Conduct regular 1-2-1s and performance check-ins with team members. * Motivate the team to meet KPIs, service targets, and quality benchmarks. Train and onboard new team members effectively. * Monitor progress daily to ensure jobs are booked and confirmed without delay. * Deliver exceptional customer experiences through every interaction. * Coordinate with field-based contractors and internal departments. * Proactively resolve scheduling conflicts and customer queries. * Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and service delivery. ✅ What You Bring: * Proven experience in scheduling operations and team leadership. Background in or understanding of service delivery. * Excellent UK geographical knowledge. * A natural leader and communicator with excellent telephone skills. * Confident conducting 1-2-1s and coaching staff. * Hands-on, can-do attitude — willing to roll up your sleeves and lead from the front. * High level of organisation, multitasking, and time management. * Driven to exceed targets and uphold compliance standards. Calm and reasonable under pressure. Accuracy and sharp attention to detail. * Strong IT skills and experience using scheduling, CRM systems and Microsoft packages (very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel). Required Experience/ Qualifications: * Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in a team leadership or supervisory role in scheduling or customer service. Extensive experience scheduling in service visits across the UK. * GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths. * Ideally Level 3 qualification (e.g. NVQ, BTEC, A-Levels) or above in Business Administration, Customer Service, or a related field preferred. * Experience in a compliance, health & safety, or field service environment is a plus. Management or leadership training/certification is desirable.
