Quality Inspector

My client, a leading and well-known Manufacturing Company based in Maitland, Cape Town requires a competent and experienced Quality Inspector to join their team. JOB OBJECTIVE: To ensure effective and timely inspection of components in accordance with Procedures and Work instructions. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Carrying out first off/ intermediate inspection checks on submitted work. Carrying out material clearance prior to issue to the shop floor. Ensuring that final inspection is carried out in accordance with relevant work instructions. Raising internal reject notes when non-conforming products is identified. Require working in other areas of scope of work as stipulated by the team leader from time to time. Authority to reject non-conforming items awaiting management decision on rework/scrap. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Proactively reduce non-quality by monitoring products within the inspection criteria with quick feedback. Timeously feedback to production on quality problems per component. Ensuring proper dimensional reports are maintained. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/VALUES: Good communications skills (verbal/non-verbal). Effective decision maker and results oriented. Critical Thinking and Problem-solving ability. Conflict handling and resolution skills. Ability to work in a high-pressure environment. REQUIREMENTS: NSC Matric Certificate. N4 Mechanical engineering or similar and above. Certified QC training Advantageous. 5 years manufacturing experience.ESSENTIAL At least 1 year QC experience. ESSENTIAL Use of measuring equipment (micrometer, vernier, shadow graphs, etc.) Use of CMM and smart scope camera systems Advantageous. SA Citizens only Must be Criminal Clear Must be prepared to work shifts Must be able to work in a high pressure environment Must be able to converse in English or Afrikaans. Must reside in the Greater Cape Town area COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS: Ability to read and understand Mechanical drawings, Specifications. Must be familiar with and able to use measuring Instruments such as: Micrometers, Vernier Gauges, Go-No-Go gauges, Dial indicators, electronic measuring equipment. Excellent attention to detail.
