Job Description

Position: Gravure Printer Location: West Midlands Salary: £44,500 - £47,000 DOE Shifts: 4 days a week (Mon – Thurs 7am – 4:15pm & Friday 8am – 3:15pm) O/T The Role: * Set up, operate, and maintain a gravure printing press. * Work with polymer/plastic substrates, ensuring correct handling and printing processes. * Interpret job specifications and production schedules to ensure accurate and efficient job runs. * Conduct colour matching and quality checks to meet exacting standards for security print products. * Monitor press performance, making necessary adjustments to maintain print quality and registration. * Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on the gravure press. * Maintain accurate production and quality records. * Adhere to stringent security protocols and confidentiality requirements inherent in security printing. * Collaborate with production teams, supervisors, and quality assurance personnel to meet deadlines and production targets. * Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency, quality, and safety. Essential Skills & Experience * Proven experience operating gravure printing presses, ideally multi-colour presses (e.g., 6-10 colour). * Strong understanding of gravure printing processes, ink systems, and substrate handling. * High attention to detail, with the ability to achieve precise colour matching and quality standards. * Ability to troubleshoot and resolve press issues promptly. * Understanding of quality control procedures and documentation in a production environment. * Comfortable working in a regulated, security-focused environment. * Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. * Flexibility to work shifts if required. Desirable Skills: * Experience printing on polymer or plastic substrates. * Experience in security printing or working with security-sensitive products. * Knowledge of anti-counterfeiting features or printing security features (e.g., microtext, UV inks). * Familiarity with ISO quality standards and procedures. Personal Attributes: * Strong work ethic and commitment to producing high-quality work. * Good communication and teamwork skills. * Organised and methodical approach to tasks. * Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
