Maths Tutor (Functional Skills & GCSE)

Maths Tutor Up to £28,000 Wigan Full-time, Permanent (25 days holiday, 3 days at Christmas, contributory pension) The Role: We’re recruiting for a Maths Tutor to deliver high-quality Functional Skills and GCSE Maths lessons across a range of learning environments. You’ll be supporting learners to achieve their potential by creating an inclusive, supportive classroom and using engaging teaching methods. Duties: Plan, deliver and assess effective Maths lessons tailored to learner needs. Carry out initial and ongoing assessments to inform personalised learning plans. Use inclusive strategies to support learners with SEND, behavioural challenges or other barriers. Provide constructive feedback and track progress to drive improvement. Identify learners at risk of underachievement and put timely interventions in place. Create a positive classroom environment that promotes confidence and high expectations. Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop resources and share best practice. Deliver sessions across different centres and to a range of learner profiles.Required Skills: Recognised teaching qualification and subject-specific qualifications for Functional Skills and/or GCSE delivery. Experience working with disengaged or hard-to-reach learners. Strong behaviour and classroom management skills. Able to engage and motivate diverse learner groups. Confident using assessment data to plan and support learner progress. Resilient, adaptable and reflective in your teaching practice. Committed to professional development and collaborative working.
