Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism Support (Year 3) Location: Exeter, Devon Start Date: September 2025 Pay: £90 - £100 per day Contract Type: Part-Time / Full-Time (depending on candidate availability) Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with autism and non-verbal communication needs at a welcoming primary school in Exeter. This role is ideal for someone with experience in supporting children with SEND, particularly those with autism spectrum conditions, and who is confident using alternative communication strategies. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support to a non-verbal autistic pupil Assist with classroom activities and learning tasks Support emotional regulation and social interaction Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support plans Use visual aids, PECS, or other communication tools as needed Requirements: Experience working with children with autism and/or non-verbal communication A calm, patient, and empathetic approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEND training) are desirable Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one) What We Offer: Competitive daily rate Ongoing support from your dedicated consultant Opportunities for CPD and career development A chance to make a meaningful impact in a child's educational journeyIf you're passionate about supporting children with additional needs and want to be part of a supportive school environment, we'd love to hear from you.
