We’re looking for a Design & Technology Teacher with a pastoral heart to also work as a Year 9 Tutor at a nurturing and inclusive SEMH school for students aged 9–19. Whether you're a qualified D&T teacher or an unqualified educator with real-world experience, if you can turn challenge into opportunity, this is your calling. What You’ll Do * Deliver engaging, practical D&T lessons (woodwork, graphics, textiles, etc.) * Act as a consistent Year 9 tutor, supporting academic and emotional growth * Use your creative skills to inspire resilience and independence * Help develop life-ready learners through a therapeutic, hands-on curriculum * Work as part of a collaborative and supportive team You Are Someone Who… * Is calm, resourceful, and get things done under pressure * Understands how to support learners who have struggled in traditional classrooms and help them realise their potential * Can build trust with families and staff alike * Loves teaching through doing, not just telling * Is a natural mentor who thrives in non-traditional classrooms ✔️ We’re Looking For: * A degree in a relevant subject (Design Tech, Engineering, Art, etc.) * Experience working with students who have SEMH/SEN needs * Strong classroom management and a nurturing, structured presence * Bonus: experience as a tutor, in KS2/KS3, or alternative provisions * Bonus: QTS / PGCE Ready to make a meaningful impact?
