SEND Teaching Assistant

SEND Teaching Assistant Primary School September Pay: £100 - £115 per day Swindon We are working closely with a number of outstanding and supportive primary schools that are actively seeking experienced and newly qualified SEND teaching assistants to join their teams. These roles focus on delivering tailored, high-quality education for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Speech, Language & Communication Needs Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) As a SEND TA, you’ll be planning and delivering differentiated lessons, working collaboratively with SENCOs, Teachers and external agencies to create a safe and stimulating environment for every child to thrive. Responsibilities: Adapting lesson materials, making them accessible to pupils. Providing one to one support during class. Reinforcing learning objectives set by the teacher. Assisting with literacy and numerical tasks breaking them down into more manageable steps. Understanding the individual needs of pupils to best support them in class. Helping pupils transition between the resource base and mainstream schooling. Requirements: Previous experience working with SEND children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the pupil, parents and colleagues effectively. Patience, empathy and resilience to meet the diverse needs of students. Relevant qualifications and training in supporting children with SEND. An understanding of relevant safe guarding and child protection procedures.
