Special Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) Job Type: Full-Time Start Date: September (initial contract until Christmas, with potential for permanent placement) About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) to join our dynamic secondary school team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator with a strong background in special educational needs and leadership to make a meaningful impact on students' lives. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a PGCE in Secondary Education Proven leadership experience within an educational setting Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills Ability to lead and support staff in delivering inclusive educationKey Responsibilities Oversee the strategic development of the school's SEN policy and provision Coordinate and monitor the day-to-day operation of the SEN policy Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to support students with special educational needs Lead on the identification of students with SEN and ensure appropriate interventions are in place Provide professional guidance to colleagues and contribute to staff training and development Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision and report to senior leadershipContract Details Start Date: September Initial Tenure: Until Christmas Extension: Strong potential for a permanent role based on performance and fit If you're a committed and compassionate educator ready to lead inclusive practices and champion the needs of all learners, we'd love to hear from you
