Credit Controller

Job Title: Credit Controller Location: Between Worcester and Droitwich (Hybrid working available after onboarding) Salary: Up to £30,000 DOE Reporting to: Financial Controller Overview: We’re recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to join a growing group of companies within the professional services sector. This role is based between Worcester and Droitwich, with hybrid working available following a successful onboarding period. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will manage credit control activities across four businesses within the group, ensuring timely payments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting smooth financial operations. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied workload and working in a collaborative, people-focused environment. You will need to be comfortable on the phones and chasing payments this way. Key Responsibilities: Manage and monitor client accounts across four group companies Ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices using a proactive, phone-first approach Maintain detailed and accurate records of client communications and payment statuses Liaise with internal teams across all companies to resolve billing and account queries Attend regular meetings with account managers to review aged debt Tailor communication style to suit different clients and sectors Allocate incoming payments daily and complete bank reconciliations Take payments over the phone via the group’s secure online system Process credit notes in accordance with group policies Where necessary, initiate recovery action using Money Claim Online Generate and share credit control reports for management and stakeholders Contribute to improving credit control procedures across the group Assist with general finance-related tasks and ad-hoc support as required About You: Proven experience in credit control, ideally within a multi-entity or group environment Confident communicator, particularly over the phone Highly organised with great attention to detail Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider finance team Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and basic formulas) Experience with Xero and XPM is a bonus, but not essential Positive attitude, professional approach, and team mindset Strong understanding of GDPR and data confidentiality Benefits: Salary up to £30,000 depending on experience Hybrid working options after onboarding period Free on-site parking Electric car scheme Generous pension Regular staff events Supportive and friendly team culture If you’re a motivated and capable Credit Controller looking for variety and responsibility in your next role, please apply or contact Munnie Thaman at Four Squared Recruitment
