Toolmaker responsibilities include - Carry out maintenance and repairs on press tools to reduce downtime and cost. Dismantle, assess, and reassemble tools to tight tolerances. Estimate repair time and plan handovers for shift continuity. Decide whether repairs can be done in-press or need toolroom work. Liaise with press ops, maintenance, and team leaders for smooth workflow. Complete accurate and detailed work reports after each task. Toolmaker desirable skills and experience - Experience working within a similar role (tooling Engineer, Machinist etc). Able to interpret engineering drawings and press tool fault find. Time served, or a manufacturing/mechanical engineering education. Toolmaker benefits include - A salary circa of £40,000 overtime. Sociable day time working hours.
