Senior Quantity Surveyor/Lead Quantity Surveyor Location: London/ Hybrid Salary: £85,000 - £120,000 Package (Travel Healthcare Pension Discretionary Bonus & more!) OPEN TO HIGHER SALARIES DOE Company: My client is a specialist MEP Contractor who have been operating in excess of 60 years. They are an international contractor with a turnover in excess of £115m per annum as a group, with £75m alone in their London entity alongside their Northern Irish office. Following the recent appointment of two standout Directors (Divisional & Commercially), my client has seen a significant period of growth within the healthcare, life sciences and commercial sectors, with their pipeline booming in these sectors, there is an extensive portfolio ready to explore; their typical project values range from £5m - £35m MEP. The business boasts an enviable track record, and they have made significant investment in London over the last 15 years. They have a full order book for this and next year. As a result of winning multiple projects, they are actively looking to recruit for their Commercial team. This is a great opportunity to join their growing team in a leadership position as the projects are innovative, work is being won and they’re growing at an amazing rate. The Role: You will be responsible for the commercial and surveying functions on your projects from tender/handover to final account stage. You will have a team supporting you across projects to manage, alongside this, they have detailed processes in place, contract support with lawyers and the chance to work towards a commercial management role. Ensure compliance with the project's procurement strategy, including subcontract inquiries and tender reviews. Manage valuations, project cashflows, and turnover forecasts, including monthly cost reports and progress records. Provide legal and contractual advice on orders and changes, handling notices and subcontractor administration. Drive commercial initiatives, producing margin improvement plans and supporting team members in maximizing opportunities. Lead and manage junior staff, ensuring workload targets, deadlines, and commercial tasks are met and updated monthly. Provide assistance, support and guidance on all commercial issues within the projects and ensure that commercial staff attain their maximum potential. Review all commercial plans to deliver maximum margin and provide contractual advice during the tendering process. Manage and review cost to complete forecasts, ensure all valuations are submitted on time and maximise monthly valuations. Carry out cashflow and Work in Progress reporting. In a SQS, they're ideally looking for: Prior experience working in a Commercial role for a contractor or consultancy, ideally with MEP exposure. Experience with a variety of contract forms, such as JCT and NEC. The ability to work collaboratively and part of a team.
