Cloud Software Engineer

Cloud Software Engineering Location: Hybrid – London Salary: £70,000 – £85,000 (depending on experience) 10% Bonus Are you a software engineer with deep cloud expertise, looking to shape complex platform solutions at scale? We’re seeking a Cloud Software Engineer with strong engineering foundations and hands-on experience delivering cloud-native, microservices-based applications in enterprise environments. What You'll Do Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, cloud-native platforms using modern cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP). Develop and support microservices-based applications using Java, Node.js, and Python. Implement containerised solutions and orchestration frameworks such as Docker and Kubernetes. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and product teams to deliver high-quality features in an agile environment. Optimise application performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability. Integrate modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring) to streamline delivery. Participate in code reviews, promote best practices, and mentor junior engineers. Continuously evaluate emerging technologies to keep platforms modern, secure, and efficient. Required Technical & Professional Experience: 5 years of experience in software development and cloud engineering. Current working for a consultancy firm. Proven expertise in building and deploying microservices-based applications. Strong coding skills in Java, Node.js, and Python . Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, web services, and cloud-native design patterns. Proficient in containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Strong grasp of Agile and DevOps methodologies with experience in CI/CD tooling. Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Preferred Skills: Experience with front-end frameworks such as React . Working knowledge of database technologies: SQL and NoSQL . Exposure to project management and Agile delivery tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Understanding of FinOps, SRE practices, and cloud service optimisation.
