An independent construction company are recruiting an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor and offering hybrid working 3 years experience working for a consultancy or contractor MRICS training Hybrid working We are recruiting an intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic, hybrid Property and Construction Consultancy founded by two experienced professionals from Main Contractor and Property Consultancy backgrounds. The Quantity Surveyor will join a business whose ability to operate flexibly across both consultancy and full construction delivery, offering clients a tailored, end-to-end service throughout the development process. Key Responsibilities: Manage the commercial elements of construction and development projects from feasibility to final account Prepare cost plans, budgets, bills of quantities, and tender documentation Handle valuations, variations, and payment applications Support procurement and contract negotiation Monitor costs and financial performance against project budgets Liaise with clients, contractors, and professional teams to ensure successful delivery Identify and mitigate commercial risks Prepare and manage cash flows and cost reports Procure subcontractors and manage tender processes Operate across consultancy and contracting functions as needed Be confident in client-facing roles, including time spent in client offices Required Experience & Skills: 3–6 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, with exposure to both contractor and/or consultancy roles Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying or related field Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract Excellent communication and negotiation skills Organised, self-motivated, and a strong team player Commercially focused with great attention to detail Desirable: Experience in residential or mixed-use development Background in both consultancy and contracting What We Offer: An opportunity to grow with a flexible and ambitious company Involvement in diverse projects with broad responsibility No corporate red tape—the harder you work, the more you earn and progress Negotiable holiday allowance Support with professional development and chartership A supportive, hands-on, and collaborative team Competitive salary and flexible working Opportunities to build relationships with clients and industry professionals A chance to directly shape the future of a growing business
