Project Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Project Engineer to support the delivery of mechanical and electrical systems on a busy construction site. The role involves working closely with the construction manager, interpreting technical documents, coordinating with procurement and design teams, and ensuring site safety compliance. Who this job would suit This role would suit a technically-minded individual at the early stages of their engineering career who is comfortable working on construction sites. Ideal candidates will enjoy hands-on problem-solving, have a strong understanding of site documentation, and be eager to work collaboratively to ensure projects are delivered safely and on time. Key Responsibilities Assist the construction manager with the coordination of mechanical and electrical system installations between site and office. Review and interpret design drawings and bill of materials for installation and progress tracking. Liaise with procurement and internal teams to manage material requests and delivery notes. Produce weekly progress reports and support programme delivery through effective planning. Ensure compliance with site safety standards, including calibration and equipment register management. Requirements Proven experience in relevant Engineering discipline (junior project engineer, junior site engineer, site installation engineer, etc). Security Cleared (SC) CSCS card – minimum of labourer card Driving licence – and ability to travel from sites Ability to pass D&A Checks Location: Chorley / Reading (travel between office & site). Contract Pay: £40 per hour - LTD (subject to CEST test / IR35 determination) Working Hours: Mon-Fri, full time.
