Senior Resource Manager - 12 month FTC

Job Description

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Resource Manager to join a leading international law firm on an initial 12 month FTC. Key Responsibilities: Relationship Building: Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal partners to gain a deep understanding of their practice, pressure points, and resourcing needs. Keep this knowledge up-to-date. Meeting Presence: Establish a strong Resource Management presence in key meetings and Partners’ meetings as necessary. Reporting: Provide weekly utilisation and projected capacity reports to internal stakeholders as needed. Utilisation Review: Monitor utilisation and overall hours (including chargeable and non-chargeable time) on a daily and weekly basis, flagging any areas of concern in real-time. Fee Earner Engagement: Build excellent working relationships with the fee-earning population to understand pressure points, capacity, skill sets, and skill gaps. Assist in matching fee earners' preferences to available work where possible. Skills Mapping: Understand and map the skills within the team (with the support of a new resource management tool), including identifying outstanding experience needs and understanding career aspirations. Work Allocation Analysis: Conduct weekly and monthly work allocation analysis to report on trends, make recommendations to smooth utilisation or improve processes, and flag any areas of concern to be addressed. Required Skills and Experience: Experience: Proven experience in work allocation or resource management, ideally within legal, professional services, or corporate environments. Qualifications: Qualified lawyer or professional with a law degree or relevant legal/resource management background. Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial acumen with excellent stakeholder management and client service skills. Communication Skills: Outstanding communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities, with confidence engaging senior decision-makers. Project Management: Proven project management skills and the ability to drive change in ambiguous situations.
