Head of Operations – Residential Conveyancing Location: Bolton/ Manchester Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch) Salary: Negotiable, based on experience Simpson Judge Legal is working in partnership with a highly respected regional law firm to recruit for a Head of Operations within their busy Residential Conveyancing Department , based at their Bolton head office. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced legal operations professional or senior conveyancer ready to step into a leadership role. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day departmental management, strategic support across multiple offices, and running your own caseload. Role Overview Provide operational leadership and team management across the conveyancing department Manage your own caseload of residential sales, purchases, and leasehold transactions Ensure the team delivers a high-quality, client-focused service Organise regular team meetings and set performance targets Handle client care and service standards (non-technical issues) Liaise with external stakeholders and build strong relationships Oversee holiday/sickness cover and authorise team leave Provide the tools and support needed for team success Delegate effectively and prioritise workloads Key Skills & Experience Required Strong background in conveyancing (sales, purchases, leases) Prior team management or leadership experience preferred Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability Strong communication and interpersonal skills Able to manage systems and conveyancing case management software Proactive, team-oriented, and confident in decision-making What’s on Offer Competitive salary (DOE) 25 days holiday bank holidays birthday day off Bonus and referral schemes Discounted legal services This is a firm rooted in traditional values with a forward-thinking approach, spanning multiple North West offices and holding industry accreditations including the Lexcel Practice Management Standard .
