Junior Technical Consultant

Junior Technical Consultant – Gloucestershire – Permanent (37.5 Hours Per Week) – £30,000 – £35,000 per annum – SC Cleared About the Role As a Junior Technical Consultant , you'll be key to understanding our clients' technology needs and then designing and implementing custom IT solutions. You'll work closely with clients and our technical partners to ensure successful deployments. This role requires a strong understanding of technology, excellent teamwork, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service. A crucial part of your job will be finding the best sourcing routes for specific hardware, ensuring the most competitive prices and lead times from our partners. This is a full-time, onsite position. Key Responsibilities Stay Updated on Technology: Continuously learn about new technology trends, products, and services to recommend the most suitable solutions for clients. Engage with Clients: Work alongside our Sales teams to deeply understand clients' technical needs, challenges, and goals, building strong relationships and trust. You'll also conduct technical demonstrations for prospective clients. Apply Technical Expertise: Use your knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and software applications to recommend appropriate solutions. This includes translating complex technical requirements into clear business language and actionable solutions. Design Tailored Solutions: Collaborate with technical experts (both vendors and our in-house team) to design custom technology solutions that align with the client's needs and budget. You'll also produce a Bill of Materials (BoM) based on this information. Drive Continuous Improvement: Regularly look for opportunities to improve yourself and others within the organization, while also optimizing technology solutions and ensuring client satisfaction. Essential Skills Basic Technical Knowledge: Foundational understanding in relevant technologies, systems, or software (e.g., networking, operating systems, hardware, coding languages, or cloud platforms). Problem-Solving: The ability to diagnose and effectively troubleshoot customer technical challenges. IT Proficiency: Familiarity with productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, project management software) and basic IT support tasks. Willingness to Learn: A genuine interest in developing technical skills and staying updated with emerging technologies. Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in technical configurations, documentation, or testing. Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves) Exposure to Technical Projects: Experience working on small-scale technical projects, whether during studies, internships, or previous roles. Some Technical Role Experience: This could be a qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent work experience or a degree. STEM Degree Background: While desirable, it's not mandatory. If you can demonstrate a strong interest or previous learning in Technology, we will also consider your application. Project Management Experience: A plus. Industry Vendor Certifications: A plus.
