The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Somerset and looking to complement, scale and grow our R&D facilities in Abingdon and Coventry with the brightest minds from within the battery and EV sector. Our battery technology roadmap is based on a foundation of world-class solutions for multiple applications. Collaborating with our technical partners, we are industrialising best-in-class high-energy density and long-lasting battery cells. Job Purpose The Logistics Coordinato r is responsible for ensuring efficient and timely movement of goods, managing customs clearance, and optimizing logistics operations. This role requires expertise in logistics, customs regulations, and international trade practices. The coordinator collaborates with suppliers, carriers, government agencies, and internal teams to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and smooth logistics management. The position is based in Bridgwater with a hybrid working arrangement. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for making shipment arrangements for inbound and outbound. Carry out cost comparisons with transport companies and freight forwarders to ensure advantageous shipping rates. Perform and implement all inbound and outbound logistics activities such as customs clearance, shipment tracking, documentation checking and preparation, and other day-to-day related activities in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures. Following up with suppliers on complete shipping documents for customs and compliance purposes. Oversee all freight assignments and proactively follow up on all shipment related activities until assignments are completed. Examining invoices and shipping manifests to ensure conformity to tariff and customs regulations. Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any shipment related issues. Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience in logistics operations. Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications. Proactive and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. Strong Attention to detail and problem-solving approach. Effectively manage work priorities with a sense of urgency. An analytical mindset with the ability to analyse data and develop reports. Identify and address logistic risks imminently. Desired Experience in chemical and DG goods. In-depth knowledge of customs regulation, tariff and classifications.
