Design Manager

Job Title: Design Manager - Industrial & Logistics Location: Harlow, Essex Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 Package (Based on Experience) The Company: A leading principal contractor with a strong reputation in the industrial and logistics sector is seeking a talented Design Manager to join their growing team. With over £170 million of secured projects all commencing this year, the business is in a strong position for sustained growth. This contractor is known for its excellent internal culture and collaborative external relationships. They pride themselves on treating both subcontractors and clients as long-term partners, delivering projects through trust, communication and integrity. The Opportunity: You will take the lead design management role on a £25 million new-build industrial / logistics project based in Harlow, Essex. This is a great opportunity for a Design Manager looking to work on a flagship scheme, with strong backing from a forward-thinking and supportive team. Key Responsibilities: * Manage and coordinate the design process from pre-construction through to project completion * Act as the primary interface between internal teams, clients, consultants and subcontractors * Ensure designs are compliant, buildable and aligned with client expectations * Review and manage consultant and subcontractor design packages * Identify design risks early and manage them proactively * Facilitate value engineering and buildability reviews * Chair design meetings and ensure design deliverables are met in line with programme * Support the site team with technical queries and issue resolution About You: * Experienced Design Manager with a background in industrial, logistics, or large commercial construction projects * Strong understanding of design principles, building regulations and construction methodology * Excellent communication and coordination skills * Able to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment * HND/Degree in a construction-related discipline or equivalent * Proficient in design and coordination software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools advantageous) What’s on Offer: * Competitive salary of £55,000 – £70,000 depending on experience * Attractive benefits package * Long-term opportunity with a growing business and pipeline of major industrial projects * Collaborative team culture and strong professional development support * The chance to work on a significant £25m scheme from start to finish How to Apply: If you’re a proactive and detail-driven Design Manager seeking your next challenge in a supportive and dynamic environment, we’d love to hear from you
