Transport & Operations Manager

Job Title: Transport & Operations Manager Location: Dartford, UK Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are seeking a highly organised and driven Transport & Operations Manager to oversee and optimise our logistics, transportation, and daily operational processes. This pivotal role ensures efficient coordination between teams, timely delivery of goods and services, and the continual improvement of operational performance across the board. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute from day one with an existing network of clients or key industry contacts. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage all aspects of transport logistics operations - Develop and implement transport strategies that reduce costs and enhance efficiency - Ensure full compliance with transport and health & safety regulations (e.g., O Licence regulations, driver hours, etc.) - Oversee route planning, vehicle maintenance scheduling, and fleet performance - Monitor KPIs and operational budgets; create performance reports and action plans - Recruit & manage subcontractors - Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers - Collaborate with senior leadership on scaling operations and identifying improvement opportunities Qualifications & Skills - Proven experience in transport, logistics, or operations management (35 years minimum) - Strong leadership and team management skills - Excellent knowledge of transportation regulations, fleet management, and routing software - Solid problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail - Proficient in MS Office and logistics software (e.g., Transport Management Systems) - Full UK Driving Licence (HGV licence a plus) What We Offer - Competitive salary based on experience - Company vehicle or car allowance (if applicable) - Pension scheme and holiday allowance - Supportive team culture and opportunities for career development Salary £50,000 to £100,000 bonus included
