Quantity Surveyor – Residential Groundworks The Opportunity Join a tight‑knit commercial team of 11 delivering high‑quality groundworks to major residential developers. Whether you’re a proven QS or a strong Assistant QS ready for that next step, you’ll run the numbers on six live sites, reporting directly to our Commercial Director and shaping profitable, safe delivery on the ground. Salary - £32,500 – £55,000 (DOE) Hours - 07:30 – 16:30, Monday‑Friday Bonus - Discretionary performance scheme Holidays - 23 days bank hols, rising annually to year 5, Pension - 3.5% employer contribution Car - Company vehicle or £840 pcm allowance fuel card Long Service - Cash milestones & extra leave Well‑being - Same‑day GP, physio & mental‑health support (EAP) Healthy Living - Monthly gym/fitness payments after probation Day‑to‑Day * Manage valuations, CVRs, cost forecasting and change control on up to six concurrent residential groundworks packages. * Liaise with site managers, engineers and client teams to ensure accurate measures and timely payments. * Mentor trainees and the Assistant QS, embedding best‑practice commercial controls across the team. * Drive value engineering and robust procurement alongside our Regional Estimator. You’ll Need * Residential groundworks experience – housing plots, drainage, externals, roads & sewers. * Strong grasp of JCT & bespoke developer contracts. * Confident with take‑offs, re‑measures and ERP/estimating software. * Full UK driving licence and the flexibility to visit Midlands‑based sites. Nice to Have * HNC/Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent. * Track record stepping up from Assistant to fully‑fledged QS. Ready to build your future with us? Send your CV to Daryl Richardson.
