Financial Controller – RC Frame & Groundworks *RC FRAME / GROUNDWORKS EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL* Ridgeway & Co are working with an established and fast-growing RC Frame and Groundworks contractor is seeking a highly capable and hands-on Accountant / Financial Controller to join their team at their head office in Hertfordshire. This is a key role within the business, reporting directly to senior leadership and overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of a high-volume subcontractor working across major residential and commercial construction schemes in London and the South East. Key Responsibilities * Oversee all management accounts, financial reporting, and job cost control * Liaise with project teams and commercial managers to ensure accurate cost forecasting and WIP analysis * Manage cash flow, subcontractor payments, and CIS compliance * Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements * Support budgeting and year-end audit processes * Streamline accounting systems and introduce efficiencies as the business scales Requirements * Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role within RC frame, groundworks, or civil engineering * Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or QBE * Strong knowledge of CIS, VAT, and construction finance practices * Hands-on, detail-oriented and commercially astute * Confident communicator across site, commercial, and board-level stakeholders What’s on Offer * Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses * Stable, well-structured contractor with a strong project pipeline * Opportunity to build and develop finance systems in a fast-moving environment * Direct access to decision makers and long-term progression Please apply with the latest copy of your CV or contact James Bennett on the details provided
