A highly respected Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners UK ranked firm, based in the heart of the City of London, is looking to appoint three Social Housing Solicitors to join its nationally recognised housing department. The Social Housing Solicitor will join a department praised for its legal expertise and advocacy, handling a broad range of housing matters including homelessness, disrepair, eviction, succession, and possession claims. This is an ideal opportunity for a Social Housing Solicitor with a passion for social justice and the drive to make a real difference in people's lives. ​ The Social Housing Solicitor's role As a Social Housing Solicitor, you will report directly to the Department Director and be responsible for managing a varied caseload of public and private housing work. This will include legal aid and privately funded matters, with the opportunity to provide supervision and technical support to more junior staff. Responsibilities include: Handling housing cases involving homelessness, disrepair, possession, and neighbour disputes. Representing clients at all levels of court, including the Higher Courts. Supervising and supporting trainees and caseworkers. Conducting your own advocacy and participating in the Housing Court Duty Scheme. Ensuring accurate time recording, file management, and compliance with legal standards. The Social Housing Solicitor To succeed as a Social Housing Solicitor, you will need: A valid Practising Certificate. Solid experience in housing law, including legal aid and private client matters. The ability to supervise and mentor junior team members. Strong advocacy, communication, and client care skills. A proactive and professional approach to your work. Excellent organisational and analytical skills. ​ In Return? £46,000 - £52,000 supervision bonus. Clear progression within an award-winning department.
