Macgregor Black is delighted to be partnering with a leading food wholesale brand in the search for a Category Manager to join their dynamic commercial team. This is a pivotal role within the business, offering ownership of a high-performing category and the chance to shape long-term strategy while delivering against ambitious commercial targets. As Category Manager , you will take full responsibility for the development and performance of your category. From managing pricing and supplier relationships to identifying product gaps and promotional opportunities, you’ll be the driving force behind commercial success. You’ll lead with data, turning insights into strategic decisions and negotiating effectively with suppliers to optimise profitability, range, and availability. Working cross-functionally, you’ll play a key role in delivering on commercial objectives and influencing wider business outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute the category strategy for impulse, snacking and treats to meet financial targets and drive growth Own the pricing, promotion, and range architecture across the product portfolio Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to enhance category performance Monitor product availability, range balance, and profitability in line with business goals Analyse category and promotional performance to identify key opportunities and risks Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to align category actions with wider business objectives What We’re Looking For: Proven experience in FMCG or wholesale category management A commercially focused mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills – you're confident influencing at all levels Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding financial and availability KPIs Excellent analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving Experience leading or mentoring teams is desirable but not essential Please contact Alice Redmond for further information.
