HVAC Design Engineer

Role: HVAC Design Engineer Location: Reading Area – 3-4 days on-site Duration: 12 months Rate: £55.05 per hour - Umbrella HVAC Design Engineer needed on contract to join our client, an established aerospace & defence engineering consultancy operating on-site in Reading area. Please note this role would require current UK SC Clearance - Sole UK Nationals Only What the role of the HVAC Design Engineer entails: Some of the main duties of the HVAC Design Engineer will include: Develop detailed designs and specifications using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) Support the safe decommissioning of nuclear facilities, systems, and assets Create and test prototypes ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards Conduct technical research to inform design and engineering approaches Manage timelines, resources, and budgets in line with nuclear regulations Collaborate across departments to ensure design coherence and safety Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and reports Conduct simulations and virtual testing of mechanical designs Monitor technological advancements and design best practices in the nuclear field What experience you need to be the successful HVAC Design Engineer: Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Minimum 2 years’ experience in mechanical design engineering, ideally in the nuclear sector Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) Strong analytical, time management, and communication skills Familiarity with nuclear industry standards and regulations Preferred: PE certification Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and simulation tools Knowledge of nuclear-specific materials and manufacturing processes This really is a fantastic opportunity for a HVAC Design Engineer to progress their career.
