About the company The company that I’m recruiting for is a privately owned, leading name within the Highways, Bridges, and Civil Engineering sector within England. They have become a very trusted partner with clients within Kent, Essex, Norfolk, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, East Midlands, and Yorkshire. My client specialises in S278 and S38 works, as well as construction and maintenance work for all types of highways, from minor roads to motorways and major route construction. They also specialise in bridge infrastructure, utilities, and rail. The projects that they undertake generally involve plenty of concrete works, deep drainage, and major earthworks. About the opportunity Due to company expansion, my client is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. Reporting to the Regional Commercial Director, as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will work on highways infrastructure, S278 works and civil engineering projects, across the UK; however, the initial contract you will work on will be a 1-year highways and infrastructure contract in Yoxford, East Suffolk. Some of the duties will involve successfully managing contracts to Final Account status, maximising profitability, and building relationships with clients to encourage repeat business. You will also be involved in maximising cash flow through the management of the debtors' report, ensuring the information is up to date for senior management weekly as well as preparing, submitting, and agreeing on final accounts with both Clients and Subcontractors. About the requirements You must have good stability of working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor whilst employed by a Civil Engineering contractor in the UK, who self-delivers highways and road infrastructure projects. It would be preferred that you have a degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management and must hold vast knowledge of NEC3 contracts. Lastly, due to project locations, you must reside within a commutable distance from Yoxford, East Suffolk.
