Compliance Manager

Role Summary This position is responsible for conducting and delivering high-quality compliance reviews and independent testing of control frameworks across European business lines within a major financial institution. The role involves planning, executing, and reporting on control activities, contributing to control methodology improvements, and engaging with senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Control Planning Contribute to the development of annual testing plans using risk assessments and incident data. Take ownership of specific testing areas within the broader plan. Control Execution Lead and perform thematic and targeted compliance reviews. Evaluate the design and effectiveness of first-line controls to ensure compliance risks are mitigated. Produce comprehensive reports and maintain documentation of review activities. Collaborate with and support junior team members. Communicate findings and action plans to stakeholders and validate remediation efforts. Control Reporting Manage and record testing outcomes and action plans. Support the development of management information and consolidated reporting. Methodology & Framework Development Work closely with cross-functional teams to share insights and improve processes. Support continuous improvement of second-line control frameworks. Advise first-line teams on enhancing their control environment. Other Contributions Participate in strategic compliance projects and respond to audit or regulatory inquiries. Mentor and coach junior staff as needed. Candidate Profile Prior experience in compliance testing within financial services. Strong knowledge of compliance principles, testing methodologies, and reporting standards. Solid understanding of banking and financial markets. Proficient analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Familiarity with UK regulations Comfortable using standard and compliance-specific software tools.
