Private Client Solicitor – Future Head of Department Location: Cheltenham - Flexible Hybrid Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE Experience: NQ OVERVIEW A well-established and close-knit law firm in the heart of Cheltenham are seeking a Private Client Solicitor to join and help shape the future of its Private Client Department. This is a rare opportunity for a driven individual to step into a role with clear progression into Head of Department, working within a supportive team and handling high-quality work for a loyal client base. The firm boasts a strong reputation locally, a friendly working culture, and an excellent pipeline of instructions, particularly from HNW clients. You’ll be joining a collaborative team, currently consisting of a solicitor and a paralegal, with the full backing of the firm to grow and lead the department. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage a varied and high-quality caseload of private client matters, including: Probate and estate administration, Will drafting, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Inheritance tax planning, Court of Protection applications Provide clear, empathetic, and practical advice to clients. Contribute to business development and the growth of the department. Build strong client relationships and uphold the firm’s excellent local reputation. Support and collaborate with existing team members to develop and enhance department capabilities. ABOUT YOU Ideally 3 years PQE, although strong NQ candidates will be considered. Confident in handling wills, probate, LPAs, and estate planning work. Experience dealing with high-net-worth individuals is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal and client care skills. Enthusiastic about taking on future leadership responsibilities and developing a department.
