Job Description

I am recruiting for an experienced Communications Officer to work for the Department for Business and Trade on an interim contract for 6-12 months. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver communications for a major transformation programme. This hands-on role focusses on creating engaging content, managing communication channels, and supporting the delivery of the transformation communications strategy. SC clearance is required for this role. Key Responsibilities Produce high-quality written content for a range of internal communications channels, including intranet, newsletters, and digital screens Design visually appealing and engaging communications materials using creative tools and platforms Support the planning and execution of staff engagement events such as town halls and team briefings Maintain and update internal digital channels, ensuring content is accessible, relevant and timely Create multimedia content including videos and infographics to explain complex transformation messages in simple ways. Gather feedback from staff on transformation communications and provide insights to the G7 Lead and G6 Head of Transformation communications Draft briefing materials for senior leaders to use in team meetings and events Track and report on engagement metrics for internal communications Support the development and implementation of communications campaigns related to transformation Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to gather content and ensure consistency of messagingEssential Skills and Experience Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise content Experience creating engaging digital content for internal audiences Proven design skills with proficiency in design software and platforms, such as Canva. Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines Experience in supporting internal communications activities Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels Understanding of effective communication approaches during organisational change Ability to translate complex information into accessible content Experience of managing multiple priorities and delivering work to deadlinesDesirable Skills Proficiency in creative software such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro Experience in video production and editing Knowledge of accessibility requirements for digital communications Experience of working in a transformation or change environment Basic understanding of analytics and measurement for internal communications What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV.
