Job Title: Semi-Skilled Site Fitter Architectural Metalwork & Balustrades Location: Various Sites (London & Surrounding Areas) Start Date: ASAP Duration: 12 Weeks plus Rate: £140 to £150 a day Job Overview: We are currently seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Semi-Skilled Site Fitter to join a busy architectural metalwork installation team. The successful candidate will assist with the on-site fitting of balustrades, handrails, staircases, canopies , and other bespoke architectural steelwork. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with prior experience in construction or metalwork installation, looking to develop further within the industry. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the installation of architectural metalwork and balustrades on construction sites Support skilled fitters with lifting, aligning, bolting, and fixing components Use hand and power tools as directed Ensure work is carried out safely, accurately, and in line with instructions or drawings Handle materials and equipment safely on site Maintain a clean and organised work area Follow all health & safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE Work collaboratively with site teams and supervisors Requirements: Previous experience in site fitting, metalwork, or construction Competent in the use of hand and power tools Good understanding of basic site health and safety practices CSCS card (essential) Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling Punctual, reliable, and a positive team player Able to take instruction and willing to learn Desirable: Experience installing balustrades, handrails, or staircases Familiarity with basic site drawings or measurements PASMA, IPAF or Manual Handling certification Driving licence and own transport Benefits: Opportunity to work on high-spec residential and commercial projects Long-term potential for development into a skilled fitter role Competitive pay with regular working hours
