Job Description

LAW Absolute is recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority based in the North-East of England, for an experienced social care lawyer to join them on a temporary basis for an initial 3-month contract. You will provide high quality legal advice within Adult Services and Children’s Services on applications to the Court of Protection and on relevant legislation including mental health, mental capacity and the Care Act. You will also undertake advocacy, representing the council before courts and tribunals. Previous UK local government experience is desirable. Ability to attend court regularly in the North-East of England is essential. To apply you will be: An England and Wales qualified solicitor, barrister, or chartered legal executive Able to demonstrate previous experience of handling a caseload of social care matters for children and adults Able to attend the office and court in North-East England when required The salary for this role is £40-£60/hour umbrella, depending on experience.
