Solution Architect - Billing Platform

Solution Architect (Billing Platform Solution) - Remote role - £700 P/D Inside IR35 - 6 Month contract - Finance sector A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and modernisation of a billing platform within a complex digital estate. The role is responsible for defining the future-state architecture, simplifying system integration, and supporting business-led configuration of billing capabilities. The architect will collaborate across business stakeholders, project teams, and technical delivery partners to design a scalable, maintainable, and user-centric solution. Key Responsibilities Analyse and document the current-state architecture , data flows, and integrations across core enterprise platforms (e.g., CRM, ERP, HR systems). Collaborate with stakeholders to define business objectives and shape the architectural vision for the target-state solution. Produce a Solution Vision Document outlining architectural options and recommendations. Design high-level architecture aligned with enterprise standards and roadmaps . Support creation and validation of detailed (low-level) technical designs with engineering teams. Evaluate and propose technology components to support dynamic business rule management and configuration. Serve as the key architectural point of contact between business, delivery teams, and platform owners. Ensure all designs meet requirements for security, compliance, performance , and operational support. Current Technology Landscape Core Applications: ERP, CRM, and HR platforms (e.g., D365, Workday) Messaging & Integration: Cloud-native messaging services and service bus architecture Business Rules Engine: Rule-based automation tooling (e.g., Oracle Policy Automation or equivalent) Desirable: Familiarity with low-code platforms, modern integration platforms, and flexible rule engines Skills & Experience Significant experience as a Solution Architect in enterprise-scale environments. Expertise in billing, invoicing , and related financial systems. Track record of designing solutions that support business-managed rules and logic . Understanding of event-driven and asynchronous messaging architectures . Strong interpersonal, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
