12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Negotiable Salary (Depending on Experience) A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Senior Product Engineer to join a leading and innovative Manufacturing company based in Cornwall, on a 12-month fixed-term contract! It is a site-based technical leadership role, ideal for a forward-thinking Product Engineer who thrives in a collaborative manufacturing environment and is excited by the challenge of driving product development, design improvements, and engineering innovation. You will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing product lines, solving complex engineering challenges, and ensuring products meet performance, cost, and quality expectations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support both current production and future innovations. Your Key Responsibilities Include: Lead product design and development projects from concept to production. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and R&D teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability. Identify and implement product improvements related to performance, cost, and efficiency. Provide hands-on support to solve engineering challenges on the shop floor. Support testing, validation, and troubleshooting of components and assemblies. Ensure products meet all relevant regulatory, safety, and quality standards. Contribute to the development of technical documentation, specifications, and BOMs. Drive continuous improvement in product lifecycle processes. What You'll Need: Proven experience in a Product Engineering or Design Engineering role within Manufacturing. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes. Experience using CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar). A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
