Quantity Surveyor

Ionic Recruitment are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our client. Introduction: Our client, a well-established contractor in the social housing sector, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis in St Helens. This is a new role due to an increase of works and growth within the business. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in social housing refurbishment and a minimum of 3–4 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role. Location: St Helens Start: ASAP Salary: Competitive and negotiable DOE Sector: Social Housing Refurbishment Job Responsibilities: • Manage the commercial and contractual elements of multiple refurbishment projects. • Prepare valuations, variations, cost plans, and final accounts. • Liaise with operational teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure cost efficiency. • Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and drive commercial performance. • Ensure accurate monthly reporting, forecasting, and contract compliance. • Monitor project budgets and provide financial updates to senior management. Requirements: • Minimum 3–4 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor. • Must have significant experience in social housing refurbishment (internals/externals/kitchens & bathrooms/etc.). • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
