Job Description

Role Overview: This role provides strategic leadership to the Group's Africa Board, driving the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the corporate strategy, vision, and mission. It requires active engagement with Group, Regional, Local, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment across strategic forums. The role also leads the development of a unified project management methodology and supports execution through frameworks, tools, and cross-functional collaboration. The position plays a pivotal role in shaping the Group's long-term strategic direction and ensuring the successful execution of key initiatives, while supporting management in delivering projects that align with corporate objectives. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and alignment of the Group's corporate strategy, mission, and vision with input from internal and external stakeholders. Act as a strategic liaison with Group Strategy and regional counterparts to ensure cohesion and integration across geographies and functions. Oversee the implementation and progress tracking of strategic initiatives, ensuring delivery against Board-approved KPIs and timelines. Design and roll out a project management methodology, including governance structures, roles, responsibilities, standards, and escalation procedures. Provide guidance and support to management in executing new business projects, acting as an internal consultant on mid- to long-term initiatives. Structure, manage, and lead cross-functional strategic projects; prepare decision templates for executive review; delegate project management as needed. Monitor quality and outcomes of strategic projects, identifying risks, escalations, and course corrections as necessary. Facilitate communication of the Regional Strategy across all Group's divisions and subsidiaries. Prepare documentation and presentations for strategic summits, Board meetings, and decision-making forums. Drive policy implementation to support the Group's expansion and business growth across the African continent. Represent the Group in regional and global strategy forums and stakeholder engagements. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (required). Postgraduate qualification (preferably a Masters degree in Business) is advantageous. Experience: 710 years of strategic management experience. Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience in financial and business consulting. Background in the automotive or African business environment is a plus. Essential Competencies: Strong negotiation and decision-making skills at senior level. Ability to lead complex strategic initiatives and cross-functional teams under pressure. Proficiency in analyzing business environments, forecasting trends, and providing actionable insights. Track record of driving alignment between strategy and execution. Strong conflict management and problem-solving capabilities. Confidence in representing the Group at all organizational levels, locally and internationally. Ability to work across cultures and present to diverse audiences including government and C-suite stakeholders. Advanced skills in financial analysis and strategic scenario development. High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Strong budget planning and management capabilities.
