Manager Mobile App

Position Overview We are looking for an innovative and experienced Engineering Manager to lead teams in our digital commerce mobile engineering organization. In this role, you will drive the development and delivery of features and enhancements for our mobile native app, ensuring it provides a seamless, engaging, and high-performing experience for our customers. Your expertise in mobile engineering, team leadership, and technical vision will be critical to scaling our mobile app capabilities and accelerating our digital commerce growth. Key Responsibilities Lead architectural design, technical strategy, and implementation of the mobile app platform, focusing on scalability, performance, and user experience. Champion best practices in coding, automation, CI/CD, and app performance optimization. Stay up to date on industry trends, mobile technologies, and best practices, incorporating them into mobile app strategy. Explore new tools, frameworks, and techniques to enhance app performance, accessibility, and security. Champion customer-centered design and innovation, ensuring apps meet and exceed user expectations. Work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define mobile app requirements, ensuring they align with broader digital commerce initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and business partners to deliver new features efficiently and reliably, continuously enhancing the shopping experience. Uphold a culture of engineering excellence, fostering practices that drive performance, quality, and continuous improvement across all projects. Drive continuous improvement by analyzing metrics, implementing feedback loops, and optimizing app development processes. Experience troubleshooting production issues and support operations via monitoring and alerting. Essential Qualifications 8 years of experience with building native apps for iOS/Android using Swift/Kotlin, with a deep understanding of platform-specific best practices. 2 years of experience in leading a team of at least 6 mobile engineers. Experience with RESTful and GraphQL APIs. Deep understanding of mobile performance, memory management, and privacy-preserving data collection. Experience with system monitoring & application observability tools. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset with a focus on driving business value. Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to rapid change. Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously under time constraints, achieving meaningful business outcomes. Experience in defining, growing, and managing a diverse, extraordinary engineering team (on-shore, near-shore, and offshore).
