Overview At Firstline, we’re on a mission to solve humanity’s greatest healthcare challenges by bringing people and knowledge together. Our first target is antimicrobial resistance (AMR), a global pandemic that is directly responsible for over 1 million deaths each year, and is associated with 5 times that number. This is broadly equivalent to the death toll from HIV and malaria combined. Firstline transforms the way healthcare providers diagnose and treat infections diseases by delivering interactive expert guidance that can be accessed on mobile devices and consulted directly at the point of care anywhere in the world. We’re currently working with over 400 healthcare organizations in 13 countries ranging from small community hospitals to the World Health Organization. Role Responsibilities Interpret antibiotic prescribing guidelines that have been created by hospital-based antimicrobial stewardship committees or other infectious disease experts. Adapt these guidelines for digital presentation, optimized for mobile devices. Help us to continually improve Firstline’s product and user experience. Required Skills & Experience Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on microbiology, pharmacology, clinical biochemistry or related field. Experience in information design or knowledge translation Strong problem solving skills. Clinical guidelines can be a puzzle to untangle - if you’re good at that kind of thing, let us know! Attention to detail. Every job posting asks for this but when it comes to patient’s health we really mean it! Fluency in spoken and written French, Italian or German is an asset. Requirements This is a full-time position and we typically work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, though your schedule will be flexible and managed by you. You must be a Canadian resident with permission to work in Canada. Your spoken and written English must be entirely fluent.
