Job Description

*Contratación por Honorarios* Position Summary: The Junior Environmental and Safety Engineer is responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of environmental and occupational safety programs. This role ensures compliance with legal regulations, internal policies, and corporate objectives, while promoting a culture of environmental responsibility and workplace safety. Key Responsibilities: Conduct site inspections and walkthroughs to evaluate environmental compliance. Support training and development activities related to environmental engineering. Execute tasks aligned with departmental objectives and performance targets. Monitor environmental KPIs included in the Score Card and report findings. Provide support during Clean Industry audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards. Manage and control processes related to hazardous materials (RME), hazardous waste (RP), and municipal solid waste (RSU). Monitor and report critical environmental conditions and deviations. Review and update the company’s environmental aspects and risk assessments. Follow up on environmental goals, targets, and improvement initiatives. Ensure the implementation and effectiveness of emergency response procedures. Monitor compliance with environmental and occupational health and safety regulations. Maintain and organize environmental documentation and records. Conduct audits of external environmental service providers. Ensure that processes under their responsibility are delivering the intended outputs. Actively participate in the Integrated Management System (Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety). Understand and adhere to procedures and requirements applicable to quality, environmental, and safety processes. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. 3 years of experience in environmental and/or occupational safety roles (internships or co-ops acceptable). Basic knowledge of environmental and safety regulations in Mexico. Familiarity with waste management practices (RME, RP, RSU) and ISO standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Willingness to learn and grow within the EHS discipline.
