Job Description
The scope of privileges includes the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, disposition, and referral women of all ages with acute and chronic gynecologic and common non-gynecologic symptoms, illnesses, injuries, or conditions. Provide education on health, wellness, family planning, and the prevention and management of disease. Assess, stabilize, and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions in accordance with medical staff policy. Manage common GYN issues to include pregnancy, infertility, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, and menopause Therapy of condyloma and intraepithelial neoplasia. Colposcopy with or without biopsy (ASCCP certification preferred) Intrauterine device insertion/removal Subcutaneous contraceptive rod insertion/removal Incision and drainage of cysts and minor abscesses Fitting of diaphragm or cervical cap Endocervical curettage Endometrial biopsy Cryotherapy Excision/biopsy of vulvar lesions Needle aspiration for culture Biopsy of vaginal mucosa Punch biopsy Shave biopsy Excisional biopsy Topical and local infiltration anesthesia Paracervical block (optional) Large loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) (optional)
