Description and Requirements We are seeking a Storage and Backup Engineer responsible for monitoring, configuring, and maintaining storage and backup infrastructures. The role includes routine and emergency maintenance to ensure operational stability. Responsibilities Configure and administer RAID storage and SAN components, including Fibre Channel switch management, data restore, disaster recovery, and data backup for clients and servers. Maintain storage aspects of new server integrations, storage allocations, and change management processes. Plan capacity for tape libraries and backup servers. Conduct routine equipment checks, preventative maintenance, storage and backup analysis, and performance planning. Set up procedures to consolidate data storage across different platforms (Windows, UNIX, Linux). Perform Disaster Recovery (DR) for critical systems and ensure successful rebuilds of production or DR servers when needed. Troubleshoot storage issues and resolve them promptly. Configure and schedule backup jobs. Document and update procedures, policies, and operational support information related to storage and backup environments. Participate in designing and refining operational procedures and policies. Prepare reports on storage and backup best practices, new technologies, and recommend improvements.
