Job Description Job Description The National Accounts Manager is responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with End-User National Accounts, Specifiers, and Sales Representatives across the United States. This role focuses on achieving and exceeding sales targets, expanding market share, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales goals through National Accounts. Drive company growth initiatives in collaboration with internal and external Business Development teams by acquiring and expanding National Accounts. Negotiate contracts with major clients, ensuring alignment with both functional and decorative product offerings. Partner with Inside and Outside Sales Teams to generate new business and grow existing customer accounts. Identify and address challenges, working collaboratively toward effective resolutions. Conduct field market research and propose new product ideas, including target markets, pricing strategies, and sales forecasts. Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Submittals, and Sales teams to shape market research strategies and better understand customer needs. Work with R&D to determine product specifications based on projected sales demand. Analyze product development costs with global product and purchasing teams, assess ROI, and make recommendations on go-to-market strategies. Lead, coach, motivate, and mentor cross-functional teams to drive performance. Manage within established budgets for expenses, returns, and discounts. Qualifications 10 years of leadership experience in End-User National Account or Specification Sales. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in a dynamic, entrepreneurial sales environment. Strong knowledge of lighting systems in both commercial and residential markets. In-depth understanding of lighting controls and installation requirements. Demonstrated success in developing and managing National Accounts. Solid technical proficiency to support customer and market needs. Self-motivated with a proven ability to work independently and deliver results. Willingness to travel 60–70% of the time. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Proven ability to deliver comprehensive product training to teams and customers. Strong organizational and project management capabilities. Comfortable working under tight deadlines and adapting to change. Effective presentation skills and the ability to communicate across all organizational levels. Ability to influence and lead teams without direct authority. Detail-oriented with excellent time management and prioritization skills. Thrives in fast-paced environments with the ability to multitask effectively.
