F1 Strategy Engineer (2026)

Job Description

Overview: This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a world-leading motorsport team for the 2026 Formula 1 season. As a Strategy Engineer, you will play a crucial part in delivering strategic support during race weekends, with involvement in pre-event simulations, in-race support, and post-event analysis. You will work closely with a dedicated team to ensure optimal race strategy execution, both from trackside and the Factory Race Support Room. The salary is open and will be offered to attract the absolute best talent in the industry. Key Responsibilities: Develop strong teamwork and communication across various departments to drive performance. Provide strategic support during FIA Formula 1 Championship races and select test events. Lead pre-event simulations, generate reports, and deliver in-event strategy assistance. Conduct competitor analysis throughout the race weekend and between events. Improve and evolve existing strategy tools and systems. Perform numerical and statistical analysis to guide strategy decisions. Research and implement new methodologies, software tools, and techniques. Conduct pitstop analysis and offer feedback to enhance team performance. Ensure the race strategy systems are set up and functioning correctly. Comply with all safety regulations at events and in the workplace. Qualifications and Experience: A Master's or PhD degree in a STEM discipline. At least 3 years of experience within Formula 1 or motorsport, with a strong focus on strategy. Proven experience in data analysis, including the application of statistical methods. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to present clear reports and recommendations. Experience with race strategy, including familiarity with tools like ATLAS and SBG RaceWatch, is a significant advantage. Key Skills: In-depth knowledge of race strategy and vehicle/tyre performance. Experience working under pressure in high-stress, time-sensitive environments. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workloads effectively. Excellent team collaboration skills and a positive, 'can-do' attitude. Strong technical skills in programming (MATLAB, Python, C#) are desirable. Additional Information: This position may require extensive domestic and international travel and a willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends. The work environment is fast-paced, demanding, and requires attention to safety regulations.
