Job Description

Project Manager / Estimator – Civil Construction Reports To: General Manager Our client is a well-established and growing civil contracting and excavation company based in Victoria. They specialize in bulk and detailed excavation, site preparation, and underground utility installation, with projects ranging from $500K to $5M across the South Island and Greater Victoria. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager/Estimator to join a collaborative, tight-knit team with a strong reputation and a clear path for growth—including the potential to step into a General Manager role in the future. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with Supervisors, Foremen, and fellow Project Managers to ensure project success Prepare and issue purchase orders and subcontracts Develop and maintain project schedules Liaise with clients and attend site meetings as needed Identify and pursue new project opportunities and attend pre-tender meetings Oversee job costing, change management, and project performance Balance estimating and project management responsibilities (approx. 50/50 split) Qualifications: Minimum 3- 5 years of experience in a similar Project Manager/Estimator role Strong background in civil, underground utility, or mechanical construction Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract Excellent communication skills with both clients and crew Solid understanding of job costing and change management Proficient in Microsoft Office Safety-conscious, dedicated, and team-oriented Compensation & Benefits: Salary: $120,000–$140,000 Bonus Vacation: 4 weeks RRSP Match: 5% Benefits: Comprehensive package (1-month waiting period) Vehicle Allowance
