Intermediate / Senior Estimator

Our client, a Developer Builder based in Nanaimo is looking to hire an experienced estimator for the team. They are a well established company with options to work in Victoria as well by next year. Responsibilities · Project Evaluation: Review and analyze project plans, requirements, and specifications to determine the scope of work and required contents of estimates. · Cost Estimation and Quantity Take-off: Prepare accurate and detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other expenses based on project plans and specifications. · Vendor/Subcontractor Relations: Solicit and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services. · Budget Management: Assist in developing project budgets and provide input on cost management strategies throughout the project lifecycle. · Bid Preparation: Prepare bid documents and submission packages, ensuring compliance with client requirements and deadlines. · Risk Assessment: Identify and quantify cost factors, such as materials, labor, equipment, and time requirements, and assess their impact on project costs. · Value Engineering: Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction personnel to recommend alternatives or value engineering solutions to enhance project profitability without sacrificing quality or performance. · Documentation: Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and other relevant documentation. · Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to construction estimating and cost management. · Coordination: Coordinate project plans and schedules to ensure they align with the overall project goals. Qualifications 5 years Estimating experience with general contractors Experience in residential multifamily and ICI construction projects Familiarity with municipal application processes is an asset. Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Bluebeam Takeoff software. Package: $100-150k depending on experience RRSP Bonus, 4 weeks vacation Health benefits from day 1 1-2 work from home option
